THE HISTORY

Arte was born from Domenico’s desire to create a wine that knew how to embody elegance, the ability to age, rich on the palate with fruity notes, a wine that knew how to tell the story of the Langhe. A task for artists and visionaries who want everything done well, in short, something from Domenico Clerico.

Born thus, in the harvest of 1981, the Arte, Langhe Rosso, a congregation of several vineyards and in those times, one of the first to age in a new container in the Langhe: the barrique.
It immediately became one of the most well known and sought after wines in the Langhe, and an ambassador for our territory: a distinctly Piedmontese red capable of speaking to wine lovers from all over the world, a Super Piedmontese.

Every year Arte still gives us the opportunity to play, to create, to experiment, to liberate us from contrivance and preconceptions to create a great new wine every year.

Arte always reminds us where we come from, in the 1970s Piedmont was yet to be discovered.

Nebbiolo, the grape at the base of this blend, was still a wine only for a select few and was searching for its space and new ways to be known.

THE PROJECT

Making wine is an art. For this reason, we have chosen to unite two artists, with a creative vision similar to Domenico Clerico, chosen from the most promising students from the prestigious Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin.

Every year they exclusively create ten works inspired by the world of wine for “Arte Limited Edition”, driven by their creative spirit and their desire to create something beautiful and unique.

You too are an active part of this project: you can choose your favourite work of art and create a unique piece thanks to the further personalisation that you will discover in the following steps.
The most popular work by every artist will be permanently exhibited in our cellar and will be visible to all of you who come to visit us.

FRANCISCA JITARU

I was born in Romania in 1995, and since I was a child I have always had a particular inclination for drawing.

I prefer to use paper with tempera and water colours to express myself, and I also really love experimenting with different techniques and different expressive ways.

At the moment I am attending a three year course of Graphic Art at the Albertina Academy in Turin, a path that I am sure will provide me with the foundations for a lasting career in the world of art.

In the years to come I hope to have the opportunity to try new and stimulating techniques that can enrich my creative language.

ELEONORA BALLARIO

I was born in 1999 in a small town in Cuneo. I don’t remember the exact moment when I first picked up a pencil, but I believe it was natural, like breathing.

Art has always been my safe haven, the parallel world in which I immerse myself when reality doesn’t reflect my imagination.

Surreal and mythological beings are recurrent in my illustrations, often revealing themselves as masks with vacant ethereal souls.

I have cultivated my passion by following a study course linked to creativity and culture, and today I attend the Albertina Academy in Turin and, looking forward, I cannot think it will be detached from these two areas.
