THE STORY
Arte was born from Domenico's desire to create a wine that embodied elegance, aging potential, richness on the palate, and fruity notes—a wine that could tell the story of the Langa. A task for artists, visionaries, those who want everything done well, in short, something for Domenico Clerico.
Thus, in the 1981 harvest, Arte, Langhe Rosso was born. A blend of several vineyards and one of the first wines to be aged in a new container in the Langa at that time: the barrique.
It immediately became one of the best known and most sought-after wines in the Langa and an ambassador for our territory: a distinctly Piedmontese red capable of speaking to wine lovers all over the world, a Super Piedmontese.
Every year, Arte still gives us the opportunity to play, to create, to experiment, to feel free from patterns and preconceptions in order to create a great new wine every year.
Arte always reminds us where we come from: the Piedmont of the 1970s, still waiting to be discovered.
Nebbiolo, the grape variety at the heart of this blend, was still a wine for only a select few and was seeking its place and new ways to make itself known.
