THE STORY

Arte was born from Domenico's desire to create a wine that embodied elegance, aging potential, richness on the palate, and fruity notes—a wine that could tell the story of the Langa. A task for artists, visionaries, those who want everything done well, in short, something for Domenico Clerico.

Thus, in the 1981 harvest, Arte, Langhe Rosso was born. A blend of several vineyards and one of the first wines to be aged in a new container in the Langa at that time: the barrique.

It immediately became one of the best known and most sought-after wines in the Langa and an ambassador for our territory: a distinctly Piedmontese red capable of speaking to wine lovers all over the world, a Super Piedmontese.

Every year, Arte still gives us the opportunity to play, to create, to experiment, to feel free from patterns and preconceptions in order to create a great new wine every year.

Arte always reminds us where we come from: the Piedmont of the 1970s, still waiting to be discovered.

Nebbiolo, the grape variety at the heart of this blend, was still a wine for only a select few and was seeking its place and new ways to make itself known.

THE PROJECT

Making wine is an art. That's why we decided to bring together two artists with a creative vision similar to Domenico Clerico's, selected from among the most promising students at the prestigious Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti in Turin.

Each year, they will create ten works inspired by the world of wine exclusively for “Arte Edizione Limitata” guided by their creative spirit and desire to create something simply beautiful and unique.

You too can play an active role in this project: you can choose your favorite work of art and create a unique piece thanks to other customizations that you will discover in the following steps.
The most popular work by each artist will be permanently displayed in our cellar and will be visible to all of you who come to visit us.

    MELISSA TRUSOLINO

    MELISSA TRUSOLINO

I was born in Turin in 1998 and grew up in a small village in Monferrato. Paper and colours are the ingredients of my growth as a person and an artist.

What I am most fond of is the creative process, that personal relationship that is created with one’s work before even knowing its final form. It is a moment of internal movement, of lightness, which is without time and disturbances.

Currently I am attending the two year course in Art Graphics at the Albertina Academy in Turin, and I can only say of the future that art, as a game and experiment, will always be a constant, my way of discovering something new and unexpected, remaining once again enchanted with shapes, lines and colours that complement each other.

The illustrations developed for Arte Limited Edition were born from a game and an experiment. Because first of all art must be so, a fun opportunity to create something new and unexpected. I started with a human figure, a subject that I find extremely fascinating and mysterious, and I wanted to connect it with wine. Everything is surrounded by nostalgia, mystery and curiosity.

    ELEONORA BALLARIO

    ELEONORA BALLARIO

I was born in 1999 in a small town in Cuneo. I don’t remember the exact moment when I first picked up a pencil, but I believe it was natural, like breathing.

Art has always been my safe haven, the parallel world in which I immerse myself when reality doesn’t reflect my imagination.

Surreal and mythological beings are recurrent in my illustrations, often revealing themselves as masks with vacant ethereal souls.

I have cultivated my passion by following a study course linked to creativity and culture, and today I attend the Albertina Academy in Turin and, looking forward, I cannot think it will be detached from these two areas.

    FRANCESCA BELLINO

    FRANCESCA BELLINO

I was born in Genoa in 1998 and grew up in inland Savona. My only real passion, since I was a child, has always been art in all its facets.

Nothing has ever moved me so much as transferring my emotions to paper. Drawing has always been my anchor, a fixed point, the freedom to express who I am.

In 2020 I started the course at the Albertina Academy in Turin. My choice dictated by my love of engraving and tradition. My objective is to continue my artistic research, to transform my studies and my great passion into my work.

The works of art I proposed represent subjects connected to the territory, the links with the earth, the feelings that bind us to it, and the return to nature. A philosophy that also animates much of my work. In fact above all, my research concentrates on the study and reproduction of the forms of the natural world.

    FRANCISCA JITARU

    FRANCISCA JITARU

I was born in Romania in 1995, and since I was a child I have always had a particular inclination for drawing.

I prefer to use paper with tempera and water colours to express myself, and I also really love experimenting with different techniques and different expressive ways.

At the moment I am attending a three year course of Graphic Art at the Albertina Academy in Turin, a path that I am sure will provide me with the foundations for a lasting career in the world of art.

In the years to come I hope to have the opportunity to try new and stimulating techniques that can enrich my creative language.
